The collection of signatures for the Minority SafePack European Citizens' Initiative on minority protection ended on 3 April.

As recorded by the Federal Union of the European Nationalities (FUEN), more than 1.3 million statements of support were collected in the EU Member States, and the minimum number of signatures pre-determined under the relevant EU regulation has been reached in 11 Member States. The authorities of the Member States have three months to validate the signatures, however it may definitely be taken that the condition for the success of the initiative is fulfilled (at least 1 million valid signatures from at least 7 Member States that have reached the minimum number of signatures).
